This episode begins with Asuma’s fire jutsu striking Hidan. Suprisingly, Asuma received considerable damage as well. It was revealed that Hidan had just moments before, activated his ability. By injesting his opponent’s blood and standing in a ritual circle, Hidan had trapped Asuma in some sort of “curse”, which enabled him to transfer all the damage inflicted on him to the opponent. Hidan make Asuma injuried by stabbed his left hand. As he tries to stab himself in the heart, Shikamaru captures him with his Shadow Binding technique. Hidan tries to negate Shikamaru’s technique with sheer brute force as Shikamaru analyzes and finally figures out how Hidan’s ability works. He forces him out of his circle to negate the technique, which buys time for Asuma to attack Hidan. Unable to move, Hidan cries out to Kakuzu for help and is declined. Asuma then beheads Hidan. Shikamaru exhausted due to his Shadow Binding technique. He is unable to keep his balance and falls to the ground. Suprisingly, Hidan’s immortality enables him to stay alive even with his head cut off, although he cannot move. Asuma is then attacked by Kakuzu and is left unconscious. Kakuzu sews Hidan’s head back on with threads coming out of his body. He leaves Asuma to Hidan and begins combat against the other three. Izumo and Kotetsu try to attack Kakuzu, but he manages to grab them by using his body threads. Hidan, now able to move again, prepares to attack Asuma. As he goes for the final blow, Asuma gets up and suddenly attacks Hidan. But Hidan had a trick up his sleeve. As Asuma dodges Hidan’s attack, Hidan’s scythe pierces his body, while he was standing in the circle. This inflicts great damage to Asuma and he is unable to move. He then pierces his chest, fatally wounding Asuma.
